American Fiction is a comedy-drama movie based on the novel “Erasure”. The movie is directed and written by Cord Jefferson. The story is about an African-American author called Ellison played by Jeffrey Wright, a professor trying to convince the best publishers to launch his book which is based on him but the editors and publishers are not accepting his book as it doesn’t have fights, drugs, and foul topics involved in it.

Publishers are looking for a story that will have all roadside kinds of stories, involving fights and drugs in it. This forces Ellison to change his story and write a book on the roadside guy story. It seems in the movie it looks like there are some set of Americans who want or keep black guys’ image like this only and how difficult is for black people to enter into the industry.
Now Ellison is writing a book where he becomes this roadside guy and suddenly many editors and publishers have started contacting him. There is family drama as well in the movie Willy the Wonker who plays the brother character of Ellison has the best scenes in the movie and must be watched.
There are a lot of jokes it’s not hostile toward white people but there are a lot of you know ruthful jokes. Jewish people might have thought about or Gentiles back in the day this kind of jokes. The white people they are making fun of are the people who want the black people in the pigeonhole.
American Fiction movie is genuinely good and holds you till the end. Along with the story of the professor the family drama also gives the best experience in the movie. We think introducing the family drama in the movie was a very smart and clever move. Because it takes the movie in a new direction and keeps you connected with the movie.
Some sections are really stretched can could have been winded up in a shorter period. This movie is 2 hours movie and this is too much duration for a movie like this. Very good performances, there were lovable characters in all this was a lovable film. More importantly, this film addresses this very obvious issue in social media, in movies. Many films have shown this problem but this was a very unique way of displaying it.
